
An old grape native to the Valle d'Aosta, cultivated from time immemorial and brought to attention again in the last few years.
Colour: intense ruby red tending to garnet.
Nose: very strong, ethereal, characterized by spicy notes which are enhanced by ageing.
Taste: full, smooth, warm, with good structure, softness and persistence. Improves with ageing.
Accompaniments: red, white and grilled meats.

Accompaniments: 18°-20°C (64°-68°F), open a couple of hours before serving.
Notes: lends itself well to ageing (2-3 years) provided it's laid down in suitable conditions at a constant temperature of 10°-15°C (50°-59°F) and not exposed to light.
